Classic Vintage Cars Buyer

Dennis Buys a Mint 1985 Mercedes 380SL

Every one in awhile in our never ending search for classic vintage cars cars we get lucky. Today was one of those days. We got a call through our website from a retired Beverly Hills doctor who wanted to sell his 1985 Mercedes 380SL. He explained to me that he bought it in Beverly Hills when it was less than a year old and only had about 30,000 miles on it. This is the best scenario possible for a buyer of classic vintage cars like myself. True, rust free California classic vintage cars are very desirable to collectors, so of course I was interested.

We made and appointment the next morning and the car was exactly as I imagined it would be. He had put heavy sheepskin covers on the seats when he bought it and underneath the leather was immaculate like new. The paint was perfect and the car looked like it just came out of the showroom. He also installed a very nice Nardi steering wheel, which, although we prefer classic vintage cars to be 100% original, complimented the car quite nicely.

We struck a deal. The car fired right up and soon I was driving it back to headquarters on Venice Blvd. in Los Angeles.

We Buy Classic Vintage Cars, Motorcycles and Trucks

Dennis Goddard: Doctor tell us about your car that you are selling today.

Dr. Dave: This is a 1985 Mercedes 380SL that I loved when I saw it in the showroom of the old Mercedes Benz dealership on Wilshire Blvd in Beverly Hills. I loved the car immediately because of the color and the fact that the inside matched the outside. It had a hard cover everything worked, I got a new steering wheel for it and put the sheep skin covers in it. As you can see, I have adored this car all through the years. Although I have not driven it in recent times that is why when I moved here 18 years ago the concierge put it in cut off switch because I knew we wouldn’t be using it a lot with the other cars.

Dennis: How many miles are in the car?

Dr. Dave: I am told about 30,000.

Dennis: The car is an 1985 and when did you buy it?

Dr. Dave: I bought it the next year in 1986.

Dennis: So, you bought it in 86 so you have been the only owner since then?

Dr. Dave: That is right and I have enjoyed it over the years we used to drive it back and forth in the house in palms springs that we have.

Dennis: Doctor how did you hear about Dennis at Dennis Buys Classic Cars?

Dr. Dave: I saw your advertisement that you buy classic vintage cars when I went online and found you. You were on time and interested in the car so I am happy to release it to you.

Dennis: Do you remember doctor what it was that you entered when you did the online search?

Dr. Dave: Yes, I entered classic vintage cars in Beverly hills.

Dennis: Yes, classic vintage cars. Why did you decide to sell your car to a dealer as opposed to selling it privately on your own?

Dr. Dave: Because I didn’t what anybody traipsing through this building itself. I didn’t want to deal with strangers, disappointments and joy rides and god knows what. I wanted someone who knew classic vintage cars what they were talking about.

Dennis: How would you rate your overall experience today.

Dr. Dave: It has been excellent, excellent you were punctual, your companion was punctual, it could have not been better, it was an excellent experience.

Dennis: Thank you very much we really appreciate it.
